Din was contracted to redesign and relaunch Desktop magazine, repositioning it from a small trade magazine into a national design title. After working with a team of design consultants, the magazine was relaunched in 2001 as Desktop: Australian Design | Digital Culture, instantly tripling its circulation. The new Desktop featured studio profiles and extended interviews with leading designers, reviews, web guides, and visual essays by Australian photographers.

After the relaunch, Din began to travel and stayed on commission for a further four years with editor Gillian Bartlett, working as a columnist, reviewer, feature writer and photographer (such as the cover story on designer Simone Le Amon pictured). He produced cover features on designers and studios including: Eness, Rinzen, 3Deep, Fabio Ongarato, Deanne Cheuk, Merda, and many others. The new Desktop redesign stayed in use for a decade before being given a new look in 2011.
